The International Trade Commission has issued a general exclusion order in a patent-based section 337 investigation with respect to asserted claims of certain patents of certain electronic paper towel dispensing devices and components (337-TA-718). The ITC is also issuing cease and desist orders against two companies, Stefco Industries, Inc. and Cellynne Corporation of Haines City, FL with respect to the same claims. The ITC further determined that a bond of 100% of the entered value of the covered products is required to permit temporary importation during the 60-day Presidential review period under 19 USC 1337(j). The investigation, general exclusion order, and cease and desist orders were requested by Georgia-Pacific Consumer Products LP of Atlanta, GA.

The International Trade Administration is amending the final results of its first administrative review of the antidumping duty order on certain lined paper products from China (A-570-901). ITA has recalculated the rates for the separate rate companies in this administrative review due to a Court of International Trade decision. The amended rates, which are officially effective December 6, 2011, are expected to be implemented by U.S. Customs and Border Protection soon.

The International Trade Commission has voted to institute an investigation of certain communication equipment, components thereof, and products containing the same, including power over ethernet telephones, switches, wireless access points, routers and other devices used in LANs, and cameras (337-TA-817). The products at issue are devices such as telephones, switches, WAPs, routers and other devices used in local area networks, and cameras that are compliant with certain IEEE standards.

The products at issue are devices with secure communication applications installed in various electronic devices to create a secure communication environment between two devices when in use by consumers.

The ITC further determined that a bond of 100% of the entered value of the covered products is required to permit temporary importation during the 60-day Presidential review period under 19 USC 1337(j). The investigation and general exclusion order were requested by Hewlett-Packard Company of Palo Alto, CA and Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P. of Houston, TX.

The International Trade Administration has issued notice of its final rescission of the antidumping new shipper review of certain steel nails from China (A-570-909) for Shanghai Colour Nail Co., Ltd. (aka, Shanghai Colour Nail Import & Export Co., Ltd.), and Wuxi Colour Nail Co., Ltd.. As a result, their temporary AD duty bonding option at the China-wide entity rate of 118.04% is being discontinued and instead must again be made as a cash deposit, effective December 5, 2011. CBP is expected to implement this change for these two companies soon.
The International Trade Administration has initiated administrative reviews of certain companies subject to antidumping duty orders, which may result in new estimated AD cash deposit rates for the listed firms. The ITA intends to issue the final results of these administrative reviews no later than October 31, 2012.
