The International Trade Commission is seeking public interest comments following an administrive law judge's final determination in a case on smart thermostat and HVAC control systems (ITC Inv. No. 337-TA-1258). The ITC announced that Judge Cameron Elliot had issued his final determination on April 4, finding no Section 337 violation but recommending a limited exclusion order and cease-and-desist orders if the commission disagrees.
The Commerce Department published the preliminary results of its antidumping duty administrative review on steel nails from China (A-570-909). In the final results of this review, Commerce will set assessment rates for subject merchandise from 17 companies under review entered August 2020 through July 2021.

Comments are due May 16 in Docket No. 3618 at the International Trade Commission on the public interest ramifications of possible limited exclusion and cease and desist orders that Precision Holdings USA and Innovamed Health seek in a May 2 complaint. The complaint alleges that ManaMed, Grandway Healthcare, Vive Health (doing business as Coretech) and Medline Industries are infringing 2018 and 2021 patents for intermittent pneumatic compression systems, according to a May 6 Federal Register notice.
Comments are due May 16 in Docket No. 3619 at the International Trade Commission on the public interest ramifications of possible limited exclusion and cease and desist orders that Honeywell and its subsidiary, Hand Held Products, seek in a May 2 complaint. The complaint alleges that Zebra Technologies and Symbol Technologies have infringed on three patents related to barcode mounting and scanning mechanisms, issued to Hand Held between 2016 and 2022, according to a May 6 Federal Register notice. The complaint comes after the initiation of two ITC investigations against Honeywell and Hand Held based on patent infringement complaints by Zebra and Symbol in March (see 2203140005).

The Commerce Department looks set to recognize a Chinese company's name change for the purposes of antidumping duties on wooden cabinets and vanities from China (A-570-106). The agency preliminarily found Jiang Su Rongxin Wood Industry Co., Ltd. (Rongxin Wood) to be the successor-in-interest to Jiangsu Rongxin Cabinets Co., Ltd. (Rongxin Cabinets), in the preliminary results of a changed circumstances review published May 6. The agency preliminarily found Rongxin Wood to operate as the same business entity other than the change in name. If Commerce confirms its finding in the final results, Rongxin Wood may inherit the AD duty rate assigned to Rongxin Cabinets (see 2205060014).
The Commerce Department released the preliminary results of its antidumping duty administrative review on carbon and alloy steel threaded rod from India (A-533-887). In the final results of this review, Commerce may set assessment rates for subject merchandise from two companies, Maharaja International (Maharaja) and Mangal Steel Enterprises Limited (Mangal), entered Sept. 25, 2019, through March 31, 2021.

This review covers subject merchandise from the exporters under review entered during the period Aug. 12, 2019, through Dec. 31, 2020.
