The International Trade Administration issued the final results of its administrative review of the antidumping duty order on fresh garlic from China (A-570-831), which sets an AD cash deposit rate for two mandatory respondents and five companies that qualified for a separate rate. These rates, which are effective June 11, 2012, are expected to be implemented by U.S. Customs and Border Protection soon.

The International Trade Commission voted to institute an investigation of certain radio frequency integrated circuits and devices containing same (337-TA-848). The products at issue in this investigation are radio frequency (RF) circuits, including RF switches, that allow users to transmit and/or receive wireless signals more efficiently while consuming less power, and cellular handsets incorporating such RF circuits.

The International Trade Administration issued the preliminary results of its administrative review of the antidumping duty order on oil country tubular goods from China (A-570-943) for one company, the Chengde Group1. The ITA preliminarily rescinded this review with respect to 33 companies that do not qualify for a separate rate, according to the ITA, and will therefore form part of the China-wide entity. These preliminary results are not in effect. The ITA may modify them in the final results of this review and change the estimated AD cash deposit rate for this company.
The International Trade Administration issued the final results of the administrative review of the antidumping duty order on circular welded non-alloy steel pipe from Korea (A-580-809), which sets an AD cash deposit rate for two manufacturer/exporters. These rates, which are effective June 11, 2012, are expected to be implemented by U.S. Customs and Border Protection soon.
ON Corp., which sells digital TVs in the U.S. under the RCA brand, became a licensee under Vizio’s QAM patent portfolio. That ends a patent infringement lawsuit brought against On Corp. last year by Vizio at the U.S. International Trade Commission and in federal court. The parties didn't disclose financial terms of the agreement, but ON Corp. will make royalty payments for sales of licensed products. Vizio acquired seven QAM-related patents in April 2009 from Motorola, which have been the subject of patent infringement suits and countersuits among Vizio, Funai and LG and others. The patents were granted to General Instrument between 1993 and 1997.
