Search Primer

Term list: Separate terms with spaces, not commas or semicolons.

Multi-word term: Place inside quotes to ensure an exact match (e.g. "China import").

Acronyms: Use all capital letters to ensure the search is not looking for that letter sequence instead.

Required term: If a term must be included in any resulting articles, prefix it with a plus sign (e.g., +CBP).

Excluded term: If a term should be excluded from any articles being found, prefix it with a minus sign (e.g., -ruling).

Singular form: Always use the singular form when doing multi-word terms (e.g. "russian export control" instead of "russian export controls").

Shortest word form: When you have different word forms in a quoted (multi-word) term, you want to only include the shortest version if it is the last part of the expression (e.g., "entity list" instead of "entity listing" or "entity listed").

The Seafood Import Monitoring Program Expansion that was going to be in the bipartisan infrastructure bill did not become law, but H.R. 3075 passed out of the House Natural Resources Committee in October, and the National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America is warning the majority leader that he should not schedule a vote in the chamber for the bill.

EPA to Use DIS Filing for HFCs; Says Goods Arriving Late After Jan. 1 Still Subject to New Requirements

The Environmental Protection Agency will initially use the ACE Document Image System (DIS) to collect a new data element required for imports of hydrofluorocarbons under a recent EPA final rule (see 2109230054), it said during a webinar Dec. 9. Though most data elements collected under the agency’s new 14-day pre-arrival filing requirement are already transmitted in ACE, CBP needs more time to build the new Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) number data element into its electronic filing system, EPA’s Roy Chaudet said.
