The Commerce Department released its preliminary affirmative antidumping determination June 14 that gas powered pressure washers from Vietnam (A-552-008) are being sold in the U.S. at less than fair value. Commerce found “critical circumstances” for all Vietnamese companies, and will retroactively suspend liquidation and impose AD cash deposit requirements for all subject merchandise as of March 17, 2023.
The International Trade Commission has ended a Section 337 investigation on imported solar power optimizers (ITC Inv. No. 337-TA-1327), it said in a Federal Register notice. Complainant Ampt and respondent SolarEdge reached a settlement May 11 and asked the commission to end the investigation.

The Commerce Department has published the final results of the antidumping duty administrative review on circular welded carbon steel pipes and tubes from Thailand (A-549-502). Commerce calculated an AD rate of 0.71% for the only company under review, Thai Premium Pipe Co. Ltd. In these final results, Commerce will set importer-specific rates for subject merchandise from Thai Premium Pipe entered during the period March 1, 2021, through Feb. 28, 2022. The new 0.71% AD cash deposit rate for Thai Premium Pipe and its affiliates took effect June 9, the date these final results were published in the Federal Register.

The Commerce Department recently amended its antidumping duty order on truck and bus tires from China (A-570-040) to exempt merchandise produced and exported by Guizhou Tyre Import and Export Co., Ltd. from any antidumping duties on entries prior to Feb. 22, 2020, the agency said in a notice. Commerce said the orders, which were issued nearly two years after the investigations ended when the International Trade Commission reversed its finding that imports of truck and bus tires didn’t injure U.S. industry, should have taken effect only after the ITC affirmative injury determinations were sustained by the Court of International Trade on Feb. 18, 2020. Instead, Commerce had issued the orders in February 2019 after it was notified of the change but before CIT approved it. Commerce said it will refund all cash deposits collected on entries from Guizhou Tyre during the period Feb. 15, 2019, through Feb. 21, 2020.
