The International Trade Commission states it has received a patent complaint filed on behalf of ChriMar Systems, Inc., which alleges violations of Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 in the importation into the U.S., the sale for importation, and the sale within the U.S. after importation of certain communication equipment, components thereof, and products containing the same, including power over Ethernet telephones, switches, wireless access points, routers and other devices used in WLANS and cameras. The next step is for the ITC to vote on whether to institute a patent investigation that could result in various settlement agreements with the named respondents and/or an exclusion order and/or a cease and desist order.
The International Trade Administration has issued the final results of its antidumping duty administrative review of certain steel threaded rod from China (A-570-932), which sets new AD cash deposit rates for over 100 exporters. These rates, which are effective November 4, 2011, are expected to be implemented by U.S. Customs and Border Protection soon.

The International Trade Administration has made a preliminary affirmative antidumping determination that galvanized steel wire from Mexico is being, or is likely to be, sold in the U.S. at less than fair value (A-201-840). The ITA found preliminary AD rates of 37.87% to 61.54%, which are officially effective as of November 4, 2011. U.S. Customs is expected to implement these AD cash deposit/bond requirements soon.
The International Trade Administration is giving advance notice that it and the International Trade Commission will consider revoking the antidumping duty orders on foundry coke from China (A-570-862) and stainless steel bar from India (A-533-810), Brazil (A-351-825), Japan (A-588-833) and Spain (A-469-805) in their automatic five year sunset reviews of these orders, which are scheduled to be initiated in December 2011.
