The International Trade Commission has received a patent complaint filed on behalf of VirnetX, Inc. which alleges violations of Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 in the importation into the U.S., the sale for importation, and the sale within the U.S. after importation of certain devices with secure communication capabilities, components thereof, and products containing the same. The next step is for the ITC to vote on whether to institute a patent investigation that could result in various settlement agreements with the named respondents and/or an exclusion order and/or a cease and desist order. The complaint names Apple Inc. of Cupertino, CA, as respondent.

The International Trade Administration is amending the final results of its recently published administrative review of the antidumping duty order on certain preserved mushrooms from China (A-570-851) to correct a ministerial error affecting the cash deposit rates for five companies. The amended rates, which are officially effective November 10, 2011, are expected to be implemented by U.S. Customs and Border Protection soon.
The International Trade Administration has issued the final results of the antidumping duty administrative review of polyester staple fiber from China (A-570-905) for six companies, two of which are revoked from the order for goods they both manufacture and export. The revocations and revised rates, which are effective November 9, 2011, are expected to be implemented by U.S. Customs and Border Protection soon.

The products at issue in this investigation are microprocessor-based electronic devices, such as portable electronic devices and digital media receivers.

The International Trade Commission has determined to modify a final initial determination of the presiding administrative law judge finding a violation of section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 by respondents in the investigation on "Certain Biometric Scanning Devices, Components thereof, Associated Software, and Products Containing Same" (337-TA-720), and has issued a limited exclusion order directed against products of respondents Suprema, Inc. of Gyeonggi, Korea and Mentalix, Inc. of Plano, Texas, and a cease and desist order directed against Mentalix.
