The International Trade Commission has received a patent complaint filed on behalf of Knowles Electronics LLC, which alleges violations of Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 in the importation into the U.S., the sale for importation, and the sale within the U.S. after importation of certain silicon microphone packages and products containing the same. The next step is for the ITC to vote on whether to institute a patent investigation that could result in various settlement agreements with the named respondents and/or an exclusion order and/or a cease and desist order.

The International Trade Administration has made a preliminary affirmative antidumping determination that high pressure steel cylinders from China are being, or are likely to be, sold in the U.S. at less than fair value (A-570-977). The ITA found preliminary AD rates of 5.08% to 26.23%, which are officially effective as of December 15, 2011. U.S. Customs is expected to implement these AD cash deposit/bond requirements soon.

The International Trade Administration has issued notices announcing the completion and termination of a NAFTA binational panel review of ITA's final antidumping duty determination of seamless refined copper pipe and tube from Mexico as no panel was appointed to the review.
The International Trade Administration has issued the final results of the administrative review of the antidumping duty order on citric acid and certain citrate salts from China (A-570-937) which sets an AD cash deposit rate for two exporters. These rates, which are effective December 14, 2011, are expected to be implemented by U.S. Customs and Border Protection Soon.
The International Trade Administration has issued the final results of the antidumping duty administrative review of certain circular welded non-alloy steel pipe from Mexico (A-201-805) for four mandatory respondents1. The ITA has determined that these four respondents did not have reviewable sales, shipments, or entries during the period of review. Therefore, there is no change in the AD duties for any of these four respondents.
The International Trade Administration is amending the final results of its administrative review of the countervailing duty order on certain hot-rolled carbon steel flat products from India (C-533-821) to reflect the Court of International Trade’s order in Tata Steel Limited v. U.S. and U.S. Steel Corporation and Nucor Corporation. According to the ITA, the cash deposit rate for Tata Steel Limited is 102.74% (from 577.28%). The amended rate, which is officially effective December 14, 2011, is expected to be implemented by U.S. Customs and Border Protection soon.
