According to the International Trade Commission, a section 337 patent complaint on certain wireless consumer electronics devices and components thereof was filed on behalf of Technology Properties Limited LLC, Phoenix Digital Solutions LLC and Patriot Scientific Corporation on July 24. The proposed respondents are:
The International Trade Commission found no violation of Section 337 with respect to Eastman Kodak’s allegations that Apple and Research in Motion had violated some of its patents in the ITC’s investigation of certain mobile telephones and wireless communication devices featuring digital cameras, and components thereof (337-TA-703). The commission, in its review of an administrative law judge’s remand initial determination, affirmed the ALJ’s ruling that although the accused Research in Motion products and the Apple 3G infringe on one of Eastman Kodak’s patents, the patent in question is obvious. The commission terminated the investigation in light of its finding of no violation.
The International Trade Commission decided to review part of an administrative law judge’s June 2012 initial determination finding violations of certain claims of patents held by Lutron Electronics Co., Inc. in its investigation of certain lighting control devices including dimmer switches and parts thereof (IV) (337-TA-776). The remaining respondents are American Top Electric Corp.; Big Deal Electric Corp.; Zhejiang Lux Electric Co. Ltd.; Zhejiang Yuelong Mechanical and Electrical Co.; Wenzhou Huir Electric Science & Technology Co. Ltd.; Westgate Manufacturing, Inc.; and Elemental LED, LLC d/b/a Diode LED, which have all been found to be in default.

The International Trade Commission said it's considering what the effects of a limited exclusion order directed against certain integrated circuits, chipsets, and products containing the same including televisions (337-TA-786) imported by MediaTek and Zoran would have upon the public welfare, competition conditions in the U.S., and U.S. consumers, in light of a July 12 administrative law judge recommended determination on remedy and bonding. Comments are due by Aug. 13.

The International Trade Administration issued the preliminary results of its administrative review of the antidumping duty order on solid urea from the Russian Federation (A-821-801) for one company, MCC EuroChem. These preliminary results are not in effect. The ITA may modify them in the final results of this review and change the estimated AD cash deposit rate for this company.
