The Commerce Department issued its final determination in the antidumping duty investigation on 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane from China (A-570-998). The agency increased AD rates for all Chinese companies. This final determination takes effect Oct. 20.
The Commerce Department issued the final results of its countervailing duty administrative review on magnesia carbon bricks from China (C-570-955). The agency calculated new CV duty cash deposit rates for about 125 Chinese exporters. These final results will be used to set final assessments of CV duties on importers for entries between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2012.
The Commerce Department issued the final results of its antidumping duty new shipper review on fresh garlic from China (A-570-831). In this review, Commerce is setting new individual cash deposit rates for two companies, Jinxiang Merry Vegetable Co., Ltd., and Cangshan Qingshui Vegetable Foods Co., Ltd., that were previously subject to the China-wide rate.
The Commerce Department issued its final countervailing duty determination on non-oriented electrical steel from Taiwan (C-583-852). Commerce continued to find China Steel Corporation and its affiliates did not receive illegal subsidies, so the China Steel group will be exempt from any CV duty order. For all other Taiwanese companies, suspension of liquidation (and CV duty liability) is currently not in effect for entries on or after July 23, but Commerce will require cash deposits of estimated CV duties on future entries if it issues a CV duty order.

The Commerce Department issued the final results of its antidumping duty administrative review on 1-hydroxyethylidene-1, 1-diphosphonic Acid (HEDP) from China (A-570-834). These final results will be used to set final assessments of AD duties on importers for entries between April 2012 and March 2013. There are currently no AD duty cash deposit requirements in effect for HEDP from China because the order was revoked in a sunset review in June (see 14053013).
