Search Primer

Term list: Separate terms with spaces, not commas or semicolons.

Multi-word term: Place inside quotes to ensure an exact match (e.g. "China import").

Acronyms: Use all capital letters to ensure the search is not looking for that letter sequence instead.

Required term: If a term must be included in any resulting articles, prefix it with a plus sign (e.g., +CBP).

Excluded term: If a term should be excluded from any articles being found, prefix it with a minus sign (e.g., -ruling).

Singular form: Always use the singular form when doing multi-word terms (e.g. "russian export control" instead of "russian export controls").

Shortest word form: When you have different word forms in a quoted (multi-word) term, you want to only include the shortest version if it is the last part of the expression (e.g., "entity list" instead of "entity listing" or "entity listed").

CBP Posts Content on ACE Reports, Data Extracts

CBP posted a recorded webinar and training documents that provide instructions on running ACE Reports and data extracts, it said. The content describes the navigational changes to the updated ACE Reports interface, deployed Nov. 2. It's available at the "How to Get Started Using ACE" page of CBP.gov/ACE. Click on "ACE Training and Reference Guides" and then on "ACE Reports." CBP said it's planning to record an additional webinar to highlight advanced capabilities available in the updated ACE Reports interface.

ACE Group Expands Liability Coverage for European Exporters

ACE Group said it launched its ACE Global Export Protection enhanced risk management proposition for companies in Continental Europe. It said midsized businesses in Europe are expanding their export footprint, but that increases risks. The Global Export Protection provides tailored and flexible export liability coverage for companies that supply products from their manufacturing locations in Continental Europe, including Central and Eastern Europe, it said. It said benefits include worldwide jurisdiction protection, vendors indemnity cover, catastrophe management cover, and limits of up to €100 million.

CBP/Integration Point Webinar on One U.S. Government Set

CBP and Integration Point plan a free webcast on the One U.S. Government at the Border Trade Transformation Initiative at 2 p.m. Dec. 11, they said. ACE Certification Down Until 1 p.m. Nov. 29

CBP will have the scheduled weekly outage of ACE Certification beginning at 6:30 a.m. EST Nov. 27, and continuing until 1 p.m. Nov. 29, it said. The system will be brought back up and made available once the deployment is complete, CBP said, and a message will be sent once Certification is back up. ACE Production will not be impacted.

CBP Releases Agenda for N.Y./N.J. Quarterly Broker Meeting

CBP Posts New CATAIR Info for Entry Summary Validations

CBP posted new CATAIR (Customs and Trade Automated Interface Requirements) as part of the entry summary validations recently added to the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE), the agency said in CSMS message. The CATAIR information (here) relates to a new validation capability meant to make sure an importer's estimated duty conforms to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule when filing entries in ACE (see Ref:13111418).

CBP Updates ESAR Test, Adds Access for PSCs, Etc.

CBP modified the National Customs Automation Program test that allows importers to use the Automated Broker Interface to file post-summary corrections (PSCs) of certain pre-liquidation ACE entry summaries (ESAR IV). The modifications to the ESAR IV test program "will allow filers greater access to data filed in ACE as it relates to the original entry and any subsequent PSC, limit certain additional data elements from being changed via PSC, and preclude a PSC on any entry that has been protested or where merchandise covered by the original entry has been conditionally released and its right to admission has not been determined," said CBP. CBP has been considering how to handle the question of greater data access since soon after the test was announced in 2011 (see 11081219).
