The Agricultural Marketing Service issued a proposed rule (here) on April 20 that would revise its regulations on voluntary grading of shell eggs. The proposal would prohibit salmonella-adulterated or recalled shell eggs from being presented to the U.S. Department of Agriculture for grading and certification, and would revise its definitions to remove food safety implications. Comments are due June 20.
