The International Trade Administration has issued the final results of the administrative review of the antidumping duty order on certain frozen warmwater shrimp from Vietnam (A-552-802), which sets the AD duty cash deposit rates for 30 companies (and their affiliates) and the Vietnam-wide entity. These rates, which are officially effective September 12, 2011, are expected to be implemented by CBP soon.

The International Trade Administration has issued the final results of its antidumping duty administrative review of small diameter graphite electrodes from China (A-570-929), which sets the AD duty cash deposit rates for three separate rate respondents and the China-wide entity. These rates, which are officially effective September 13, 2011, are expected to be implemented by CBP soon.

The International Trade Administration has issued the final results of its antidumping duty administrative review on stainless steel (SS) bar from India (A-533-810), which revokes the order for Venus as producer and/or exporter, effective February 2010. The results also set the AD duty cash deposit rates for two other producer/exporters.

The International Trade Administration has issued the preliminary results of an antidumping duty administrative review on certain steel nails from China (A-570-909) for 18 manufacturer/exporters and the China-wide entity. These preliminary results are not in effect, may change in the final results, and could affect the estimated AD cash deposit rates for these firms.

The International Trade Administration has announced that the NAFTA Binational Panel issued its second remand decision in its review of the final results of the 2004-2005 antidumping administrative review on stainless steel sheet and strip in coils from Mexico (A-201-822). The panel again remanded the ITA to (i) recalculate ThyssenKrupp Mexinox S.A. de C.V.'s dumping margins without zeroing, and (ii) to recalculate the indirect selling expense ratio in a manner inconsistent with the panel's opinion.

The International Trade Commission voted on September 9, 2011 to institute a section 337 patent-based investigation of certain devices of improving uniformity used in a backlight module and components thereof and products containing same (337-TA-805). The products at issue are several families of LCD displays. The investigation is based on a complaint filed by Industrial Technology Research Institute of Taiwan and ITRI International Inc., of San Jose, CA. The complaint alleges violations of section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 in the importation into the U.S. and sale of these products and requests that the ITC issue an exclusion order.

The International Trade Commission has announced that it will be reviewing, in its entirety, the Administrative Law Judge's July 1, 2011 Initial Determination regarding the possible infringement of various S3G patents by certain of Apple Inc.'s imports of Mac computers in the patent case, "Certain Electronic Devices with Image Processing Systems, Components Thereof, and Associated Software" (337-TA-724). The ALJ found that the Mac imports infringe some patents held by S3 Graphics Co., Ltd and S3 Graphics, Inc. (S3G), but not others.
