The International Trade Administration has issued a notice on the November 4, 2011 first request by Quimic, S.A. de C.V. for panel review with the U.S. Section of the NAFTA Secretariat regarding the final determination on countervailing duties for imports of certain stearic acid from the U.S, independently of country of origin. The ITA notice lists the case number assigned to the request and describes the NAFTA panel review process. (FR Pub 11/25/11)
The International Trade Administration has issued the final results of the antidumping duty administrative review of polyethylene terephthalate film, sheet, and strip (PET Film) from Brazil (A-351-841), which sets an AD cash deposit rate of 44.36% for producer/exporter Terphane, Inc. This rate, which is effective November 25, 2011, is expected to be implemented by U.S. Customs and Border Protection soon.
The International Trade Administration has issued a correction to its October 25, 2011 antidumping duty final results notice on folding tables and chairs from China (A-570-868), which revoked the order for New-Tec Integration (Xiamen) Co., Ltd. The correction notice states that the revocation is for subject merchandise both "produced and exported" by New-Tec. The October notice had mistakenly said that the order was revoked for subject merchandise exported by New-Tec.

The International Trade Commission has voted to institute a section 337 patent-based investigation of certain wiper blades (337-TA-816). The products at issue in this investigation are "beam-type" automotive wiper blades.
The International Trade Commission has received a patent complaint filed on behalf of Graphics Properties Holdings, Inc., which alleges violations of Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 in the importation into the U.S., the sale for importation, and the sale within the U.S. after importation of certain consumer electronics and display devices and products containing same. The next step is for the ITC to vote on whether to institute a patent investigation that could result in various settlement agreements with the named respondents and/or an exclusion order and/or a cease and desist order.
