The International Trade Commission has voted to institute a patent investigation of certain semiconductor chips with DRAM circuitry and modules and products containing same (337-TA-819). The products at issue in this investigation are DRAM semiconductor devices.
The International Trade Commission has received a patent complaint filed on behalf of Twin-Star International, Inc., and TS Investment Holding Corp, which alleges violations of Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 in the importation into the U.S., the sale for importation, and the sale within the U.S. after importation of certain electric fireplaces, components thereof, and manuals for same, processes for manufacturing or relating to same, and products containing same. The next step is for the ITC to vote on whether to institute a patent investigation that could result in various settlement agreements with the named respondents and/or an exclusion order and/or a cease and desist order.

The products at issue in this investigation are devices that incorporate interactive program guide and parental controls technology, such as televisions and Blu-Ray players.
