The Commerce Department issued the final results of the antidumping duty administrative review on magnesium metal from China (A-570-896). The agency made no changes from its preliminary results, continuing to find sole respondent Tianjin Magnesium International, Co., Ltd. had no reviewable shipments during the period of review. TMI will continue to receive the AD rate last assigned to it, Commerce said.

The Commerce Department issued the preliminary results of its antidumping duty administrative review on activated carbon from China (A-570-904). The agency preliminarily denied Jacobi Carbons' request for company specific-revocation, because the company has not been assigned three consecutive zero rates -- Commerce found dumping by the company in the final results of the previous administrative review. These preliminary results are not in effect. Commerce may modify them in the final results of this review and change the estimated AD cash deposit rate for these companies.
Hanukkah candles imported and sold by Rite-Lite all are covered by the antidumping duty order on petroleum wax candles from China (A-570-504), said the Commerce Department in an April 30 scope ruling.

The International Trade Commission issued limited exclusion orders barring imports of certain electric fireplaces from Shenzhen Reliap Industrial, and Yue Qiu Sheng, both of Shenzhen, China. The fireplaces were found to have violated Section 337 by infringing copyrights and trade secrets held by Twin-Star International and TS Investment Holding. The consolidated Section 337 investigation on electric fireplaces (337-TA-791/826) began in January 2012 (see 12011707). The other respondent, Whalen Manufacturing, settled with Twin-Star in July.
