The agency found preliminary a 47.8% AD rate for Toyo Kohan and all non-individually investigated Japanese companies. Nippon Steel/Sumitomo decided not to respond to Commerce's original questionnaire, so the agency assigned it a high 77.7% AD rate based on adverse facts available (AFA). Suspension of liquidation and cash deposit requirements are effective Nov. 19.

The Commerce Department issued a Federal Register notice on its recently initiated antidumping duty investigations on non-oriented electrical steel (NOES) from China, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Sweden, and Taiwan (A-570-996, A-428-843, A-588-872, A-580-872, A-401-809, A-583-851). The agency will determine whether imports of the subject merchandise are being, or are likely to be, sold in the U.S. at less than fair value. NOES is a steel product used in the production of large and small motors, generators, lighting ballasts, and ignition coils, the petition said.

The Commerce Department initiated two antidumping duty new shipper reviews on freshwater crawfish tail meat from China (A-570-848) at the request of Hubei Nature Agriculture Industry Co., Ltd. and Hubei Zhenghe Food Co., Ltd. for merchandise each company both produces and exports. Commerce will determine Hubei Nature and Hubei Zhenghe are eligible for estimated AD cash deposit rates other than the China-wide entity rate they currently receive.
