FCC Publishes List of 2025's 'Key Wins'

The FCC summarized its “key wins in 2025” in a news release Tuesday. It “was a historic year for the FCC and I am proud of all the wins we were able to achieve for the American people,” said Chairman Brendan Carr in the release. “I want to express my thanks and appreciation to the agency’s talented staff for the great and efficient results that they delivered all year long.”

The release offered a list of agency accomplishments, including Carr’s “Build America Agenda,” the Council on National Security, the end of FCC diversity programs, the planned upper C-band auction, the return to in-person work, multiple actions on robocalls and the merger conditions in the Skydance/Paramount deal. Skydance “adopted measures that can root out the bias that has undermined trust in the national news media, and committed to enhancing local news and reporting,” the release said.

It also appeared to tout the FCC’s news distortion proceeding against CBS and similar actions. The agency “held broadcasters accountable to their public interest obligations and empowered them to serve the interests of local communities.” In addition, the list highlighted the “Delete” docket, which it said has led to the elimination of 1,108 rules and regulations. “But this is just the beginning. The FCC is firing on all cylinders, and we will build on this momentum to deliver even more wins in 2026.”
