WIA Urges FCC to Examine Updated Booster Rules
The Wireless Infrastructure Association joined the drumbeat of commenters urging the FCC to move forward on the Safer Buildings Coalition's petition urging the FCC to launch a rulemaking on guidelines for getting consent from licensees to install signal boosters (see 2512180063).

There’s “a substantial need for more clarity in the Commission’s rules governing the deployment of industrial signal boosters under Part 90" FCC rules, the group said in a filing posted Friday in RM-12009, noting that rules haven’t been updated since they were adopted in 2013. Ensuring consistent indoor coverage while preventing harmful interference “is a critical objective for the wireless industry to support consumers and public safety professionals alike.”
Motorola Solutions also said commenters agree on the need to address the problems cited by the coalition. “Commenters have provided confirmation and documentation of the interference problems the SBC petition hopes to resolve,” the company said.
