Carr: FCC Working on Review of Chinese Drone Company DJI

The FCC is working to meet a congressional deadline, part of the FY 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (see 2512110051), to review whether to add Chinese drone maker DJI to its list of covered companies that present security risks, Chairman Brendan Carr told reporters after Thursday’s meeting.

Carr also responded to a legal challenge filed by Hikvision USA asking the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit to review an FCC order seeking to close potential loopholes in the agency's equipment authorization process (see 2512050038). “I feel very confident … with respect to the FCC decision that Hikvision is challenging,” he said.
