ITC Launches Section 337 Investigation on Semiconductor Devices

The International Trade Commission began a Section 337 investigation on allegations that AMD, Lenovo and Supermicro Computer are importing and selling semiconductor devices that infringe patents held by Adeia Semiconductor Bonding Technologies, Inc. (ITC Inv. No. 337-TA-1465), it said in a notice to be published Dec. 19.

The complaint was filed in November and seeks a limited exclusion order and cease and desist orders against the respondents to bar from entry "certain semiconductor devices, computing products containing the same, and components thereof" that violate the complainants' patents (see 2511180027).

Adeia said in the complaint that "arguments that attempt to label Adeia as a 'troll' or non-practicing entity are baseless."
