4 Plywood Importers, Exporters Drop Suits on CVD Review of Chinese Plywood

A total of four hardwood plywood importers or exporters dropped their cases at the Court of International Trade contesting the Commerce Department's final results of the 2021-22 administrative review of the countervailing duty order on hardwood plywood products from China.

The companies are USPLY and Vincent Wood Joint Stock Company, represented by the Inter-Global Trade Law Group, and Northwest Hardwoods and Richmond International Forest Products, represented by Mowry & Grimson. Greg Menegaz, partner at Inter-Global Trade Law, said in an email that the CVD cases "were seen as unnecessary," since the review was "special and really focused on country of origin." No CVD margins were ever calculated in the review.

All four companies are still litigating their cases against the 2021-22 review of the antidumping duty order, and other companies are still contesting the CVD review (see 2506180066). Judge Mark Barnett recently consolidated all of the cases challenging the AD and CVD reviews, and Jeffrey Grimson, partner at Mowry & Grimson, said the dismissal of the four cases at issue here was done for "cleanup."
