US, UK Announce Sanctions Against Russian Cybercrime Network
The Office of Foreign Assets Control and the U.K.'s Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation this week sanctioned Media Land, a Russia-based hosting service provider, for supporting ransomware operations and other cybercrimes. The two countries also sanctioned Media Land employees and associates Aleksandr Volosovik, Kirill Zatolokin and Yulia Pankova and a Media Land sister company, ML.Cloud.

OFAC and the U.K. also sanctioned Hypercore, which OFAC said is a front company of Aeza Group, a service provider that the agency designated earlier this year. The U.K. also sanctioned Aeza Group this week for making available technology that could contribute to destabilizing Ukraine through the provision of "bulletproof hosting services."
Others sanctioned were Maksim Vladimirovich Makarov, Ilya Vladislavovich Zakirov, Smart Digital Ideas DOO and Datavice MCHJ, which have supported Aeza Group either as workers or by helping the company evade sanctions.
In addition, OFAC sanctioned Media Land Technology and Data Center Kirishi for being "100 percent-owned subsidiaries" of Media Land.
