Disney and YouTube Reach Carriage Agreement

Disney and YouTube TV reached an agreement to end their carriage blackout, the companies said in online posts and releases Friday. “We’re happy to share that we’ve reached a deal with Disney to bring their content back to YouTube TV,” said YouTube in a post on X Friday. “Subscribers should see channels including ABC, ESPN, and FX returning to their service over the course of the day.” The blackout started Oct. 30 and stretched for more than two weeks (see 2511040052).

Disney said in a release Friday that the full suite of its stations and networks were being restored to YouTube. The deal included “carriage of Disney’s full linear portfolio including all the ESPN networks, ABC, the Disney-branded channels, Freeform, the FX Networks, and the National Geographic channels,” along with ESPN direct-to-consumer service and on-demand programming from ESPN Unlimited. It also included “the ability to include the Disney+, Hulu Bundle as part of select YouTube offerings,” Disney said.
