US and Tapered Roller Bearings Importer Reach Tentative Settlement in Duty Evasion Case
The U.S. and an importer of tapered roller bearings said in a Nov. 14 status report that they have reached a settlement agreement. The government brought its case against the importer seeking $97 million for unpaid antidumping duties (United States v. Wanxiang America Corp., CIT # 22-00205).

The U.S., also filing on behalf of importer Wanxiang America Corp., said that, though the settlement’s terms have been drafted, the agreement must be reviewed and approved by the Office of the Associate General Counsel. That was delayed by the federal government shutdown, it said.
It requested an additional 31-day deadline extension to have the agreement approved, and to allow the parties to execute it and file a stipulation of dismissal.
