Starting Nov. 14, CBP will automate the submission method for individual broker license applications by asking applicants to complete and submit all applications and associated fees through the eCBP portal. Any applications hand-delivered, mailed or emailed on or after Nov. 14 will be returned "to the applicant for submission through the portal," CBP said.
Individual broker license applicants will log-in to eCBP using the same login.gov account used when applicants applied for the customs broker license exam; credit card and debit card payments will be accepted, according to CBP.
CBP noted that this change doesn't affect the organization license application process, which will continue to be performed manually. The agency said it will issue guidance when the organization license application is automated in eCBP.
