Glycine From India, Japan, Thailand, China: Calcium Glycinate Covered by AD/CVD on Glycine
On Aug. 20, the Court of International Trade issued its final judgment in a court case -- (Deer Park Glycine, LLC v. U.S., CIT # 23-00238) -- pertaining to the scope ruling for the antidumping duty orders on glycine from India, Japan and Thailand, and the countervailing duty orders on glycine from India and China.

CIT sustained the Commerce Department's July 9 remand results of a scope ruling on calcium glycinate from India, Japan, Thailand and China. In those results, Commerce said it finds that calcium glycinate is covered by AD and CVD orders on glycine “regardless of the producer, exporter, or importer.” Under a final scope ruling Commerce had issued Oct. 11, 2023, it said that calcium glycinate is not subject to the scope of the orders -- and that ruling was remanded by CIT.
Commerce now has provided notice that, effective Aug. 30, calcium glycinate is subject to the scope of the AD/CVD orders on glycine from India, Japan, Thailand and China (A-533-883/C-533-884; A-588-878; A-549-837; C-570-081).
Commerce will instruct CBP to suspend, and continue to suspend liquidation of, entries of calcium glycinate and to require cash deposits at the appropriate rates.
