CBP to Implement Rejection of Invalid Shippers and Consignees in ACAS
CBP has set Sept. 27 as the date when it will implement a nationwide rejection of missing or invalid shippers and consignees in Air Cargo Advanced Screening (ACAS), according to a July 29 cargo systems message.

On July 28, the agency began deploying changes to the ACE Certification environment for testing purposes and implemented a warning period starting then, prior to beginning rejections. CBP noted that warning messages will be emailed to the listed ACAS point of contact and will be sent daily, with a summary of each invalid shipper/consignee from the previous day.
"ACAS filers are expected to process these warning and rejection notifications and work to correct the issue with the shipper and bill of lading issuer for compliance on that shipment," CBP said.
After the warning period, submissions with invalid shippers and/or consignees will be rejected with error code INVALID_SHP_NAME and/or INVALID_CNE_NAME.
