ITC Begins Section 337 Investigation on Active Electrical Cables
The International Trade Commission is beginning a Section 337 investigation on electrical cables (ITC Inv. No. 337-TA-1446) after receiving allegations filed by Credo Semiconductor that Amphenol, Molex and TE Connectivity are importing products that infringe its patents, the agency said in a April 14 fact sheet.

In a complaint filed in March (see 2503200042), the complainant said the respondents are importing products that infringe the patent on “certain active electrical cables and components thereof.” The complainant said that the cables "are used primarily in data centers for enabling high-speed data transmission, for example, in server-to-server and other data distribution applications." The ITC will consider a limited exclusion order and cease and desist orders against the respondents.
