ITC Ends Investigation on Medical Programmers Following Agreement
The International Trade Commission has ended a Section 337 investigation on imports of medical programmers with printed circuit boards from Axonics (ITC Inv. No. 337-TA-1396), it said in a notice to be published March 5. Complainant Medtronic initially alleged in 2024 that Axonics is importing sacral neuromodulation systems that rely on its patented technology, including devices for use with Axonics’ F15 and R20 sacral neuromodulation systems (see 2404020033).

In late 2024, the commission terminated the investigation with respect to several claims of the alleged patent violations. On Feb. 10, Medtronic and Axonics filed a joint motion to terminate the investigation "in its entirety based on a settlement agreement." Shortly thereafter, the administrative law judge initially granted the request and the ITC voted on Feb. 27 not to review the termination, ending the investigation.
