ITC Begins Section 337 Investigation on Photovoltaic Trunk Bus Cable Assemblies
The International Trade Commission is beginning a Section 337 investigation on photovoltaic trunk bus cable assemblies (ITC Inv. No. 337-TA-1438) after receiving allegations filed by Shoals Technologies Group that U.S. company Voltage and Chinese company Ningbo Voltage Smart Production are importing products that infringe its patents, the agency said in a notice to be published Feb. 18.

In a complaint filed in January (see 2501150032), Shoals said the respondents are infringing its patents on "certain photovoltaic trunk bus cable assemblies and components thereof, including at least the Voltage LYNX Trunk Bus." The complainant describes the product at issue as "improved lead assemblies or solar wire harness systems for connecting components in solar energy systems and solar panel arrays." The ITC will consider a limited exclusion order and cease and desist orders against the respondents.
