New Democratic Members of Senate Foreign Relations, Banking Announced

The Senate Banking Committee will gain three new Democratic members: Sens.-elect Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., Lisa Blunt Rochester, D-Del., and Angela Alsobrooks, D-Md.
Sen. Ben Cardin, D-Md., is leaving Foreign Relations, while Sens. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, Jon Tester, D-Mont., John Fetterman, D-Pa., and Adam Schiff, D-Calif., are leaving Banking.
Rosen said she will use her new committee assignment to “strengthen U.S. global partnerships and counter threats from Iran, Russia and China.” In October, she co-signed a letter urging the Biden administration to speed up implementation of new Iran sanctions laws (see 2410110065). Also in October, she co-led a letter calling on the State Department to designate the Iran-backed Houthis as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (see 2411060003).
