ITC Begins Section 337 Investigation on Crafting Machines
The International Trade Commission is beginning a Section 337 investigation on allegations filed by Cricut Inc. that seven Chinese companies are importing crafting machines and components that infringe its patents (ITC Inv. No. 337-TA-1426), the agency said in a notice to be published Dec. 11.

In a complaint filed in October (see 2410100027), Cricut said the Chinese companies are importing infringing crafting machines that copy Cricut's patents related to the “cutting machines and heat press machines for use in crafting and components thereof." The ITC will consider a general exclusion order on three patents and a limited exclusion order on three others.
