ITC Seeks Comments on Section 337 Complaint on Electronic Eyewear

The International Trade Commission seeks comments by Oct. 24 on a recently filed Section 337 complaint alleging imports of electronic eyewear products from ByteDance, HTC, Meta and Valve are infringing patents held by IngenioSpec, the ITC said in an Oct. 16 notice.

In the complaint, filed Oct. 10, IngenioSpec said the four companies and their affiliates are importing infringing eyewear products that copy its patents related to eyewear containing electronic components, including integrated circuits, in the frames and lenses.

The complaint seeks a limited exclusion order and cease and desist orders banning importation and sale of infringing merchandise from ByteDance, Ltd. and its affiliates ByteDance, Inc., Qingdao, Funnico and PICO; HTC Corporation and its affiliates HTC Europe and HTC Poland; Meta Platforms and its affiliates Meta Platforms Technologies, Meta Ireland and Meta UK; and Valve and its affiliate Valve GmbH.
