Commerce Finalizes AD on Imports of Garlic Chunks From China
The Commerce Department is finalizing its finding that imports of Chinese small and large garlic chunks are circumventing antidumping duties on fresh garlic from China (A-570-831).

The agency continued to find that the small and large garlic chunks are merchandise “altered in form or appearance in such minor respects that they should be included within the scope.” The final determination of circumvention applies countrywide to all imports of the products from China.
Suspension of liquidation and cash deposit requirements on imports of Chinese small and large garlic chunks remains in effect for entries on or after June 8, 2023, the date that Commerce began this anti-circumvention inquiry.
Commerce had initiated the inquiry after finding garlic chunks weren't covered by the scope of the AD order on fresh garlic because the order covers only whole garlic cloves (see 2306060013).
