Trump Says 'Maybe' Tariffs Will Be More Than 60% on Chinese Goods

Former President Donald Trump, in a television appearance with Maria Bartiromo, bragged about the "big tariffs" he put in to stop the import of Chinese steel, and denied a Washington Post report that he is thinking about imposing a flat 60% tariff on Chinese imports if reelected.

"No, I would say maybe it's going to be more than that," Trump began, before trailing off in an explanation of his trade approach.

Bartiromo told Trump that his critics say he started a trade war. "It's not a trade war, I did great with China with everything," he said. Trump also praised the president of China. "I like President Xi a lot," he said. "I got along with him great."
