CBP Working to Fix ACE Portal Error Rejecting License Numbers as Invalid, Official Says
CBP is aware of an issue for users of the modernized ACE portal that are trying to add broker license numbers for their listed employees, an agency official said Feb. 16 on CBP’s bi-weekly ACE call. Those users are getting a message in error that the broker license can’t be found, even though a valid broker license number is being issued, the official said.

“We are working on that right now,” the official said. “That is a known issue,” and CBP knows “that the license does exist,” he said.
However, trade users getting the license not found message could also be entering four-digit license numbers incorrectly, suggested a listener on the call. A CBP official confirmed that all license numbers must have five digits, so any older licenses with four-digit license numbers should be entered with a zero before the four-digit license number.
The agency will deploy a new feature on Feb. 28 whereby trade users that have been given read-only access by their account owners in the modernized ACE Portal will no longer be able to see the Social Security numbers of listed employees of the brokerage, a CBP official said on the call.
Employee addresses will not be masked, the official said. However, the Trade Support Network is working on a request for a new capability to mask addresses, too, another official said.
