EU Sanctions 141 People, 49 Entities as Part of 9th Russian Sanctions Package
The EU added 141 people and 49 entities to its Russia sanctions regime as part of its ninth package of restrictions following Moscow's war in Ukraine, the European Council announced.

The individuals include "members of the Russian armed forces and its various branches, members of the State Duma and of the Federation Council, ministers and governors," and those responsible for missile strikes on civilians and kidnappings and illegal adoptions. The sanctions also apply to family members of already listed parties.
The newly listed entities include banks such as the Credit Bank of Moscow, JSC Dalnevostochniy, "defence and industrial companies, numerous political parties, media holdings under control of the Russian authorities that constitute the core of the Kremlin’s propaganda machine, and paramilitary groups," the council said. The Russia sanctions now apply to 1,386 people and 171 entities.
