The investigation follows a Sept. 1 complaint to the ITC by Maxell (see 2209200059), which alleged that Vizio imports and sells various smart TVs that infringe on four of Maxell's patents. The patents cover smart video relay operations, graphical user interfaces, wireless communication control, and user profile organization. Maxell has asked for a permanent limited exclusion orderbarring Vizio's smart TVs from entry, along with a cease and desist order.
