Velodyne Files Section 337 Complaint on Imported Lidar Sets

The International Trade Commission received a Section 337 complaint by Velodyne Lidar, a June 22 notice said. The complaint alleges two companies, Ouster and Benchmark Electronics, are involved in the design, development, manufacture, sale for importation, importation and sale after importation of rotating 3-D lidar (light detection and ranging) sets that infringe on two of Velodyne's patents.

Velodyne asked the ITC to issue a permanent limited exclusion order, barring from entry into the U.S. all infringing rotating 3-D lidar devices, as well as permanent cease and desist orders against Ouster and Benchmark.
