The probe follows a complaint filed Dec. 15 by LG Electronics alleging that its patents were infringed by such companies as Clearwater Filters, Express Parts!!!, Ice Water Filter and Belvita Water, many located in China. In all, the ITC identified 30 named respondents. The ITC will consider whether to issue a limited exclusion order and cease and desist orders banning importation and sale of the infringing merchandise, and by Feb. 28 will set a target date for completing the investigation.
