ITC to Consider Section 337 Import Ban on MediaTek Chips and Downstream Products

The International Trade Commission will launch a Section 337 investigation into allegations that imports of integrated circuits and chipsets from MediaTek, which are also used in Amazon, Belkin and Linksys products, the ITC said in a notice released Dec. 6. In its underlying complaint, NXP said models of Amazon’s Echo Dot, Echo smart displays and Fire media players include the infringing chips, as well as Linksys and Belkin routers (see 2111050030). The ITC will consider whether to issue a limited exclusion order and cease and desist orders banning importation and sale of infringing products by the following respondents to its investigation:
