Other principles are deploying demonstration satellites into fast-decaying or seldom-used altitudes, using autonomous transponder systems broadcasting a satellite's position even if the satellite has failed, and choosing non-geostationary orbit satellites and mission designs that limit impact to other operators in if a satellite becomes derelict.
