- Canadian and U.S. officials to continue talks on softwood lumber agreement. The Canada-United States Softwood Lumber Agreement expired on Oct. 12, 2015. The governments of Canada and the United States are continuing to negotiate a new softwood lumber agreement. Both countries are committed to coming together through negotiations to achieve a durable and fair solution that will benefit North American softwood lumber producers, according to a BNN news report (here).
- Mexico officially ends restrictions on Canadian beef imports. The Mexican government has officially expanded access to Canadian beef derived from animals of over 30 months, customs broker Axxess International said in an online posting (here).
- Beef and Veal Tariff Rate Quotas (TRQ). Global Affairs Canada has announced that the TRQ reallocation for beef and veal is now available (here).
- Product Recalls: Madison Mill Inc. recalls Madison Mill Foldaway Gate manufactured in the United States (here), for strangulation hazard.
