Canadian Government Notices for April 15

- Canada and Chile sign new Customs Mutual Assistance Agreement (CMAA). The Government of Canada and Chile have signed a CMAA which lays out a legal framework for the two countries to share customs information to prevent, investigate and fight customs offenses. (here)
- Canada investing in the grain export to increase exports. The Government of Canada has announced that it is investing $1.4 million for two projects being led by the Canada Grains Council to help the grain industry meet global sustainability requirements and increase its exports to international markets. - Conditions for importation of meat products from China. The CFIA has issued Annex A which outlines and explains the conditions for the importation of meat products from China. (here)
- Canada Check Standardization Initiative. The CBSA has issued Customs Notice 15-012 which outlines and explains that importers and customs brokers may receive checks where the amount does not match the amount indicated on the detail adjustment statement. This is due to CBSA no longer issuing aggregate checks, instead issuing only a single adjustment refund check that may cover several instances. (here)
