The government of Canada issued the following trade-related notices for Sept. 15 (note that some may also be given separate headlines).

  • Canada-Honduras Free Trade Agreement. The Order in Council has announced October 1 as the day which the Free Trade Agreement between Canada and Honduras will come into force. (here)
  • Canada ratifies investment agreement with China. The Minister of Trade Ed Fast announced that the Foreign Investment and Promotion and Protection Agreement (FIPA) between Canada and China has been ratified and will ensure business between Canadian and China companies are treated fairly and sets out clear rules for governing investment relations.   • Importers listed under Transport Canada’s Pre-clearance Programs. The CBSA has issued Customs Notice 14-018 which outlines and details to importers, customs brokers and Transport Canada’s approved “Compliance Specialists” who are involved with the commercial importation of new Canadian compliant vehicles through Appendix F and Appendix G pre-clearance programs.
