ITC Begins Another Section 337 Investigation on Wiper Blade Imports

The International Trade Commission on Nov. 20 voted to begin a Section 337 investigation on patent infringement by imported windshield wipers. Trico requested the investigation in October, alleging Federal-Mogul is importing infringing wiper blades from South Korea and Mexico (see 13102303). The allegation followed a similar complaint by Federal-Mogul against Trico’s wiper blades that resulted in an ITC investigation in June (see 13060623). Trico is requesting a limited exclusion order and cease and desist orders banning import and sale of infringing wiper blades by the following companies:
