ITC Begins Section 337 Patent Investigation on Marine Sonar Devices

The International Trade Commission began on Nov. 6 a Section 337 patent investigation on imports of marine sonar imaging devices. Navico Holding filed a petition on Sept. 30, alleging imports of marine sonar imaging devices from two companies infringe its patents. The products under investigation are sonar devices that use one or more transducers to provide high-resolution images of the area beneath a watercraft, including to locate fish over a wider area, said the ITC. Navico is requesting limited exclusion orders and cease and desist orders banning import and sale of infringing devices by the following respondents:
