ITC Asks for Comments on A&J Import Ban Request on Dual Gas/Charcoal Grills

The International Trade Commission is asking for comments by Sept. 4 on A&J Manufacturing’s patent complaint against imports of “multiple mode” outdoor grills that allegedly infringe its patents. A&J filed its complaint Aug. 21, alleging infringement by Chinese manufacturers, U.S. importers, and U.S. distributors (see 13082301). The patented technology involves grills that have two cooking units to allow simultaneous cooking with gas and solid fuels like charcoal. A&J is asking for a general exclusion order, but also asked for limited exclusion orders if the commission rules against the broader ban. A&J also wants cease and desist orders against each respondent.
