  • Lacolle Border crossing improvement. The Harper Government announced funding in the amount of up to $47 million to expand and modernize the Lacolle Border crossing. (here)
  • National Biosecurity standards for goat farms. The CFIA have released a new national biosecurity standard for Canadian goat farms and is a voluntary educational tool that provides a series of management practices designed to help producers minimize and control the risk of disease entering their farms.   • Tariff reductions on environmental goods and sugar from Columbia. The Governor General in Council has announced the reduction of customs duties on certain environmental goods and also changes to phase out period for refined sugars in the Canada-Columbia Free Trade Agreement. (here)
  • Highway 11 upgrade. The Government of Canada along with the Province of British Columbia and the City of Abbotsford are working on a $25 million project which is designed as a major upgrade to Highway 11 which will relieve congestion and support cross border travel and trade. (here)
  • China thermoelectric containers. The CITT has initiated an expiry review concerning the subsidizing and dumping for thermoelectric containers originating in or exported from China. (here)
